Sweet Country: 4 Stars

Share

I liked this movie and gave it 4 Stars.

The direction is very good and the director Warwick Thornton has added another iconic film in the small-but-growing repertoire of his directorial credits. Thornton’s first movie a love story based in a dysfunctional aboriginal community in the Northern Territory of Australia: Samson & Delilah had the critics in awe of this man’s emerging talent.

My only issues are how cramped some of the settings seemed to be. We only ever see one side of one homestead and the old outback town looks as bare as they come but has a sizeable drinking population. What I would say is an outstanding feature is the scene that displays the most realistic gunshot wound I’ve ever seen in a movie.

I look forward to more movies from Warwick Thornton. Good Value 4 Stars.

Take Care & Cheers
