The Grand Mercure Roxy Hotel is conveniently located in Katong about 15 minutes drive from the main Changi International Airport. Also, major shopping centres are situated across the road and around the corner with a great cinema complex.

I stayed here for two days before moving on to a city hotel with friends. I found the service of a high standard and would happily stay there again.

The pool and the gym were impressive features of this hotel. My only issues that could be improved upon are the breakfast service. The coffee is machine and, not surprisingly, quite bland. The range of foods was acceptable but not impressive. And I soon gave up on ordering an omelette because of the impractical line up.

The location, ease of room access and hospitable service are well worth the stay. The proximity of the waters edge watching the floating fleets of ships is an impressive sight to behold with some great restaurants close by (Chilli Crab a popular favourite).
